WAIVER OF LIABILITY
To be read and understood by all persons intending to do volunteer work for Habitat for Humanity Okaloosa County. Volunteer does hereby release Habitat for Humanity in Okaloosa County, Inc. from all liability claims which arise from volunteer’s work for our affiliate, whether at the job site, warehouse, or other such volunteer work. CHILDREN UNDER 16 YEARS OF AGE ARE NOT PERMITTED ON AN ACTIVE JOB SITE. CHILDREN UNDER 18 MUST FILL OUT A DIFFERENT WAIVER SIGNED BY A PARENT/GUARDIAN.
Habitat for Humanity in Okaloosa County, Inc. prohibits any action or conduct which may discriminate against or harass other employees, harass any partner family or applicant for a Habitat home. Habitat does not tolerate any actions, words, jokes or comments based on an individual’s sex, sexual orientation, race, ethnic background, age, religion, physical condition, or other legally protected characteristic. Any comment or actions, therefore, which demeanor are hurtful to people of a certain sex, sexual orientation, race, ethnic background, age, religion or certain physical condition are prohibited. Volunteers exhibiting this behavior may be asked to end their volunteer relationship with the organization
Publicity Release: It is customary to publicize from time to time, news stories (sometimes with photos) of families selected by Habitat for Humanity in Okaloosa County, Inc., affiliate board members, volunteers participating in a Habitat activity or other subjects deemed of interest to our affiliate. The news stories generally appear in local newspapers, at any time from the groundbreaking ceremony up to and including the dedication of each home. Other activities that include Habitat for Humanity volunteers may also be publicized in various media areas such as radio or TV. In doing so, we are requesting your permission to release news stories with corresponding pictures of you and/or your family.
